Jimmer Mania

Well blogging scmogging isn't something I get around to much these.

Last Spring we were able to make it to a BYU Home basketball game. It was JIMMER MANIA! It was great to see Jimmer at his finest!! At the end of the game we got a text from Grandpa saying, "Do you want to go to the press conference?" Uh YEAh! Well Grandpa knows Jimmer really well. He knows him so well he is often on TV with him during games (see white arrow.) OK well Grandpa knows Jimmer so well because he keeps the stats at the BYU home games .... so Jimmer probably doesn't know Grandpa as well as Grandpa knows Jimmer :)

Here are Joey and Joe in the press conference room waiting for the players and coach to come in.
Here was our view of Jimmer and Jackson Emery. Later Coach Rose came in.

Joey started the summer off by taking a fabulous art class from our friend Kiersten Bietler's Drawing Studio. Here he is in his Jimmer jersey.

Here is some of his artwork!

At the end of the week he had to bring in a picture of a real person to draw.
Shocking Joey chose this one.

This was his final project.

Hopefully the NBA lockout will get resolved so we can continue to watch more Jimmer and Jazz or we will have some pretty grumpy pants boys around here! In the meantime GOOOO COUGARS!

Not Our Typical FHE

So we are lucky enough to be friends with Eric Dodge. Last night for our Family Home Evening he invited us to come and ride his horses. It was such a fun night!

It was an unforgettable night and we can't wait to do it again!!!! A huge shout out to Eric for helping us make some great memories for our boys!

Birth Mother Brunch

For the past 5 years Joe and I have been serving on the board of our local chapter of Families Supporting Adoption. We have been the committee co-chairs for the past 2 years. One tradition we have grown to love is hosting a Birth Mothers Day Brunch at our home the Saturday before Mothers Day. It is an amazing experience to work with the other board members to make this event happen and to honor such special women.

Here are my cute boys having their Gogurt breakfast outside while I do final preparations inside.

The tables are all set and ready to go ....

We work with such talented and creative people on the Families Supporting Adoption Board! One of our members works at a sheet metal place and made these cute magnet boards. Another made the cute angel name tags that I didn't get a very good picture of. Yet another board member made the cute magnets. We were also lucky enough to get donated gift cards from the Paul Mitchell Academy for each of our honored guests.
I wish I would have gotten better pictures of the food. Here is the chocolate fountain, yet another board member provided. I didn't get pictures of the yummy cinnamon rolls, quiche, fruit, etc. This would never happen if we didn't have so many committed wonderful committee members helping!

What a great day! Can't wait to do it again next year!!!
